The appointment was made in accordance with the existing law as stipulated in Section 29 of the Environmental and Coordination Act 1999 as read together with the Environmental and Coordination (Amendment) Act 2015.
On appointment, the experienced quantity surveyor said that environmental issues are of importance to him as they directly impinge on his work on a day to day basis and also because the environment is analogous to al living organismsmaking our survival dependent on how well we take care of it.
“I am quite excited to be part of the team that is charged with managing environmental issues around one of the most important water towers in Kenya and hope that our work will positively impact the posterity of this region,” he added.
His appointment in his capacity as an NCA official gives the Authority a strategic opportunity to articulate the its mandate first hand to county officials and other key stakeholders who are members of the committee seeing as opportunities for formal interaction with County authorities are often limited.
QS. Adwera will also seek to drive up the numbers in respect to quality assurance, project registration, audit of existing buildings as well as accreditation of both skilled and unskilled construction workers in the region, in accordance with the Authority’s mandate and function
