NCA held a meeting with its key exhibiting partner, DMG Events to explore ideas that will form the basis of a successful event in 2017.
2016 saw the Authority host the Annual Construction Research Conference and Exhibition for the second year running. The event, currently the biggest construction event in East Africa, attracted world- renowned speakers, over 1000 conference delegates and180 local and international exhibitors from 20 different countries.
The third edition of the conference has been scheduled for 1st – 3rd November, 2017 at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC). The conference, themed “Harnessing the potential of the legal and institutional framework for inclusive sustainable growth of the construction industry” will be a high level gathering of professionals covering the more legal aspects of construction in Kenya.
For the first time at ACoRCE, the conference will host business matching and investment forums. These forums aim to attract potential investors keen on doing business in Kenya. The forums will bring together the key government agencies when it comes to local business, from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), KenInvest, Kenya Bureau of Standards amongst other key state bodies. The forums will also include a networking element where attendees can share ideas and meet key contacts in their preferred areas of business.
DMG Events run The Big 5 Construct East Africa, a major construction exhibition which is co-located with ACoRCE at the KICC and runs parallel to the conference.
The Big 5 team have increased the number of exhibitors from 180 exhibitors to 250 exhibitors. The exhibition this year will have more local representation in support of Kenyan construction brands. Further the team will provide certified educational sessions that will enable the participants learn from the industry experts. The workshops that will cut across sustainability in the construction industry, construction project management and Technology and Design in the construction industry will be free to attend for any one with interest; the workshops will also attract Continous Professional Development (CPD) points from various professional bodies. NCA registered contractors are set to benefit from the CPD points offered.
NCA and Big 5 Construct also agreed to formulate a joint marketing strategy that will push the event’s agenda to ensure that there is maximum participation and a full attendance for both the conference and the exhibition.
Expectations for this year’s event are high, and both NCA and DMG are guaranteeing the biggest show yet.
