The National Construction Authority conducted an alternative continuous development training seminar at the Mabati Rolling Mills factory in Athi River on 22nd June, 2018.
This is the final seminar of its kind this financial year-2017/2018. The alternative program is ran concurrently with the standard CPD forums but is targeted particularly at NCA category 7 and 8 license holders.
The contractors were taken through various presentations such as best roofing practices, various product offerings and emerging trends in the industry. They were then went on a tour of the factory and were exposed to the manufacturing process of roofing solutions.
It is mandatory for at least one technical director to attend at least one of the training forums conducted every month of the financial year. The training is a requirement for renewal of the annual practicing license and upgrading of contractors’ category.
All those who attended the training will earn full (ten) CPD points. Attending at least one training is a mandatory requirement for renewal of a contractor’s annual practicing license.
The other purposes of these forums include greater accessibility to training opportunities in a bid to diversify the trainings and cater for the specific needs of lower cadre contractors, capacity building and building of professional networks not only amongst contractors themselves but the businesses visited as well.
The Authority continuously endeavors to arrange for and host training forums in an effort to have a professional and well developed industry.
